Please be prepared to pay on your first visit, unless you are exempt from NHS dental charges.
Failure to attend your appointments, without a valid reason, may result in a charge being incurred or will result in treatment being declined at The One Dental Practice.
FREE NHS TREATMENT *
*subject to exemption from NHS dental charges if you are:
Aged under 26
Universal Credit
Pregnant or have had a baby in the previous 12 months
Income Support
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
Pension Credit - guarantee credit
You are named on a valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate or You are entitled to an NHS tax credit exemption certificate
You are named on a valid HC2 certificate OR partial help with charges if you are in receipt of a HC3 certificate.
Unless you are in one of the groups entitled to free NHS dental treatment or help with the cost you will require to pay 80% of the cost of your NHS dental treatment up to a maximum of £384 per course of treatment. Examples of costs for some types of NHS treatment are shown in the table below . Fees are as of 1st Nov 2023.
Please note that the NHS fee structure is complex and varies considerably from patient to patient depending of the treatment required.
Not all treatments are available on the NHS. Cosmetic treatments are not available, for example, ‘white fillings’ on back teeth or a tooth coloured crown on a back tooth.
Your dentist will be able to explain what treatment is and is not allowed on the NHS.
